Hi Bob,
I really like best the TR4 badge bar depicted on the dust cover of Bill
Piggotts first "Original TR" book (and it's also pictured in his 2nd 'Original
TR'
book in the accessories section near the back)
I contacted the 'owned-since-new' owner of this beautiful and very original
TR4 sending him sketches of how I thought the bar was constructed for
verification so I might construct my own.
The owner verified my construction diagram as correct.
Over the years others have attempted to manufacture this bar but haven't got
the simple mounting right.
I have never seen a TR4 badge bar for sale.
Making one's own is 'a project' (a slight bend required in the steel tube,
two tabs welded for overider bolt mounts, and two tabs welded for driving light
mounts) and the chroming. The ends simply have chrome plug finishers. To save
cost I entertained the idea of having one made but finishing it in silver
paint or silver powder coating instead of chrome because once it's in place
there's just not that much 'bar' showing (mostly badges and driving lights!).
Anyway there's my two cents...
If you want to start manufacturing them - let me know!
Regards,
Carl

---------
I'm hoping, once again. to tap in to the compiled resources of the list. I'm
looking for a badge bar to install above the front bumper on a TR4 (not
TR4A). I have a nice matched pair of spot and fog lights, but don't want to
rudely
drill into the front bumper for installation. None of the big three seem to
offer a likely looking accessory for the TR4, although there are a couple of
options for the TR3. I'd like to find something made specifically for the
TR4,
but I'm willing to improvise if necessary.
Anybody have any leads or suggestions?
