My mistake. I never considered or discussed regrinding or welding an old camshaft. I'm not a fan of trying to reuse or repair an old camshaft when you buy a new one for a six cylinder TR for approx $300.00, manufactured with better materials & technology. To me this would be like reconditioning 30 year old pistons or oil pumps. Things that get buried deep in the engine get a priority for quality, longevity & durability. My first reground Isky camshaft failed after approx 1,000 miles. I try not to make the same mistake twice, although more often than not it's unavoidable :-) -- Mitch Seff Oceanside, N.Y. 75 TR6 http://www.angelfire.com/ny4/triumph5/ |
