I bought my TR6 in Carlisle, PA, drove it home (Mid-
Hudson Valley in NY), then turned around the next day
and drove it BACK to Carlisle (to pick up another car
we left there) and then drove home again. Over 700
miles in less than 36 hours in a car that had been
sitting in a garage for at least a few years. The only
problems were that on the first trip home, I ran out
of gas on the NYS Thruway (I discovered very early that
when the gauge says E, it's EMPTY) and we had to do a
quick tuneup on the road the next day (clean & re-gap
plugs, re-gap points) when it started running really
rough.
It was an adventure that I now realize might have
been a bit foolhardy but I'm glad I did it - I knew
then and there that I had purchased a good, reliable
car. Bring some tools and some spares and drive it!
