Well I replaced my 820C non-sleeved thermostat with a generic 1600F
one bought at the local chain auto parts store. I drilled the 1/8"
hole in it. I also blocked the bypass hose by inserting a 3/4"
copper end cap with a 1/8" hole drilled in the top.
I was going to replace the cooling fluid but, I noticed I could not
get anything to drain from the engine block drain. On removing the
drain I found it (and the space behind it) filled with the a black
muddy type of material. So now, I like Rob Pannell, would like
suggestions on a good cooling system flush.
Also I would like to know if I connected the garden hose to the metal
heater line (the one with little control valve) could I do a fresh
water flush of the head.
Last I am in the process of building a "Geo Hahn air dam" for the
radiator which I will also be testing out soon...
Thanks
John
