I'd err on the side of caution and rebuild with a new kit.  You don't
want to skimp on anything as critical as your brakes.

Hi,

 

When tracing a leak from my brake reservoir I noticed the fitting
between
the inner and outer can was loose (TR3A link to pic below).  I took it
apart
to clean it and found the rubber seal between the cans was badly
deteriorated.

 

I can probably make a new gasket out of blank rubber but I'll probably
get a
better seal with some sort of gasket-in-a-tube,  I'm running DOT5
silicone
fluid so would a silicone based compound be safe?
