TR3 cooling

I bought my TR3 from Minneapolis and had it moved to Phoenix. It
runs about 195F in town and about 203F on the highway with an
ambients of 105-110F. After reading the all the posts on the
thermostats & water pumps I have several questions.

1. I want to go in & take a peek to see what type of thermostat I
have. Does the TR3 require a special gasket for the thermostat
housing, or is it a generic one I can pick up at Pep-Boys or the like?

2. Is there some marking on the water pump that would tell me if I a
higher performance water pump with the Ken Gilanders 6 blade impeller
model that Fred Thomas mentioned.

3. Several months ago someone posted an email with a link for a
description of a small home made scope to feed air to the bottom of
the radiator. I lost the info, but am interested in trying to add
one to my car.

Thanks

John
