Most of the thermo switches for electric fans are 22 mm. A wide selection of
operating temperatures is available from any good auto parts shop. They have
vast catalogues of the things!

I don't know where in the world (or maybe it is "when" in the world) David
lives . . . but that method of operation ceased to work for me many years
ago.

Walk in to any parts store around and you'll get some doofus who only wants
to punch into a computer your make, model, year and whatever other info is
prompted of him.

Those guys are fish out of water if you stray from their trained path.

I suppose some of the NAPA stores have the books to look stuff up in . . .
but my experience with them is that they aren't the most willing or helpful
guys in the world.
Maybe If I had a mechanics shirt with my name on it . .they'd think of me as
a better potential customer.

In any event, my point is that in order to be of great help these days, the
information needs to be very specific and detailed.

Like trying to get the Bosch alternator for your TR6.
Is it a from a Ford Fiesta or Festiva?
What year? The one with air conditioning and rear defogger or not?

I don't mean to slam Mr. Brister. I hope it doesn't come across that way.
I'm just saying that I REALLY appreciate when someone relates all the
relevant details of their experience after they have done the leg work.
Exactly like Hugh Barber did with his thermostatic switch.
