My car came with this setup (by the PO - probably because the MGB switch he
used is cheaper than the pressure switch required).  He mounted a brake
pedal switch from a later model MGB in place of the stop bolt on the pedal
assembly.  It is easily viewed from the engine bay.

Makes so much sense that it is a bit of an embarasment that it took MG to
show the way.  ;-)
