Tony,

As I recall, there was a product on the market that used a rubber cap to
help seal valve guides.  I was going to use one on an old Chevy straight 6
at one time.  You might try a old timer's auto parts store (these new
"supermarket" type parts houses are staffed with guys to young to remember
such things).  I think they are called valve guide seal kits.  Might be a
temporary fix so you don't have to trailer to VTR.  Also, you can either
install new plugs a couple of steps "hotter"  or install "anti-fouling"
inserts to ward off any fouling.
