Non LBC Jeep Grand Cherokee

Here in UK we do not have many US produced cars but a friend of mine has a
Jeep Grand Cherokee and he can not turn off the heat into his interior!

UK is usually cold and wet but when the sun shines it would be nice to turn
off the heat into the passenger compartment. Any help here would be of
assistance.
