Both the dipstick and the starter change occurred at TS50000, not 60000
(when all the body and wiring changes occurred).
The early cover will fit the later box, but unless you have an early cover,
no dipstick. On the later units, there was a square-headed plug fitted in
the side of the gearbox, the correct oil level was at the bottom of the
hole.
It's even possible to convert an early dipstick cover to work with the
4-synchro box ... guess what's on my car <g>
