Wayne,
Sounds like fuel starvation could be your problem - clogged fuel fiter,
clogged float valve, bad fuel pump, bad gas?  I'd suggest replacing the
Petronix (those magnets in the collar can get lose and cause those symptoms,
I know that from personal experience), and if that doesn't solve the
problem, work backwards on the fuel system.
