Actually I think La Dawris are pretty neat. But then again the only time
I've had my hands on one was at Mid Ohio racetrack a couple of years ago for
the big Triumph related race weekend. Bob Lang offered me a ride around the
track in his TR, and as we came up to one corner a La Dawri had died on
course. We pulled over, jumped out and pushed the car out of harm's way.
Boy, that was a good weekend!

I remember watching that. Bridget and I were just a bit hung over from
trying to hang with the visiting British racing contingent the previous
night. We got to the track late and were relegated to being spectators
during the Triumph parade lap. I thought it was great that the La Dawri
owner brought that car for all of us to see, and even better that he tried
to get it around the track.
The fact that it had to be pushed out of the way was enough to almost make
me forget how much my head hurt. . .Almost.

I too kinda liked that La Dawri. Although like a lot of conversion cars, it
didn't seem to quite fit the chassis that it was placed on.
It looked significantly different than the one now on e-bay. It was a white
coupe and the front end of it kinda reminded me of an old Ferrari.

That was indeed a good weekend. Wonder if the VIR gold cup races will be
anywhere near as much fun this year? One way to find out!
