Randal,
I used a product from this company several years ago with good results on
the Spitfire. You brush it on and let it sit, then can be easily scraped off
with putty knife and/or wire brush. Heavier coats require several
applications, but it works well. The company is called SparkleAuto

of excellent other cleaners. (NFI...)

Thanks to all those who have responded to my query about removing
undercoating.
I was hoping someone had discovered some sort of chemical
poly-ethyl-badstuff that I could spray on and watch the undercoating just
melt off the car. But, it sounds like I have to do it the old fashoned way
with a heat gun and scraper.
I suppose this is one of those karmic pay-backs for putting tar undercoating
on another TR3A thirty years ago....
