Hello list,

Still working on the TR3A. It's a nicely restored car and nigh on show
material (see http://www.intuh.net/tr3a.jpg ), but it needs 'a bit of
work' to bring it up to my technical standards.

Among a host of other things, I noticed there's a mounting bolt missing
from the dynamo. It's on the bottom front, the bolt that should fix the
front lower dynamo lug to a pedestal on the front of the engine bracket.
Moss Europe list p/n 51K1774 for this, which is really meant to go into -
wait for it - the small ends in MGB engines!
51K1774 is probably a high tensile steel bolt, not in stock anywhere
(probably due to the fact that MG owners are not known for working on
their cars themselves), too expensive and has a delivery time of about two
weeks.

The pedestal is not easily accessible for trying various bolts on it as
long as the dynamo is in place. So before I start removing the dynamo or
spend ages blindly fiddling with possible candidates from my bolt cache, I
thought I'd ask here first: does anybody know what size bolt should go
here?

TIA.

Eric K.
