Are these the open cage, or the Torrington sleeved type, assuming that it is
the same as the later TR6 Stag Saloon etc, the open cage type have a ring
clip and washer to remove, the Torrington sleeve type need a special
expanding puller to remove them without damage but then why would you re use
them, just destroy them and fit new! When you are beating them out, you
could imagine it is your revenge for the hard to remove circlip on the front
of the mainshaft!
Once you have one out you can use a long bar of suitable diameter and drive
the second one out from the far end! I have even dropped a washer down
through and fiddled it flat then driven the washer with something, usually
the old laygear pin, IO never put one of those back either as the surface
usually breaks down causing the hissing stick syndrome!
