Thanks Bob, but we had a club member go with the 225/60/16's and he had bad
rubbing issue on his front wheels. Brand new wheels and tires, and
destroyed them on a trip to Savannah. I'm going with the smaller sizes to
avoid that.

You like that, eh? I haven't seen the final cut, but if there's any video
of me driving from the paddock to the course or back the paddock, you get
a pretty good idea how stiff the tires are. With only about 25 pounds of
air, the cracks in the pavement go "badump-badump" when you drive over
them. In fact the sidewalls are so stiff that with ZERO pounds of pressure
the rims don't touch the ground (unless you get on the gas.)

As far as your tire choice - make sure you do the math on the sizes, but
the 225/60-16 should be widely available and will fit, but you need to be
careful about making full-lock turns on extreme pavement grades, as the
tires can/will rub on the fender lip. The is especially true is the car is
lowered.

One more comparison. The race car tire diameter is 23 inches. This is over
three inches shorter than stock. There are no tire rubbing problems even
with the car lowered almost five inches from stock. But when you get down
there, you need really stiff springs! I like 490's in the front.

Badump, badump.
