Terry, You probably already have the answers to your question put here goes: Polyester primer with a Catalyst hardener. Think of this as "sprayable bondo". It is really thick and makes smoothing surfaces easy. It is porous and must be overcoated. Epoxy primer is similar but is not porous. I think is harder to sand as well.
