The clutch in my Tr4 is beginning to slip and has been adjusted as much
as possible. So time to replace it. While the tranny is out I thought I
would try to slow the oil leak by replacing the rear oil seal. A tool is
shown on the opposite page in the Moss catalogue
called the "Rear main crank seal alignment tool". Is this item necessary
for replacement of the seal or does it just make it easier? Is there any
substitute? Any helpful suggestions concerning this proceedure or clutch
replacement also would be greatly appreciated. Also is this a good time
for replacement of the front transmission seal and is it a major job?
Thanks in advance for your help.
