Hello, everyone. This is no doubt old news to most of you. The sleeved
thermostat costs $37. The skirtless one costs $5.00.
TeriAnne's website talks about TR3A thermostats.
"This tells us how the TR's housing can be modified to use a skirtless
thermostat without creating conditions that make heads prone to cracking. You
would need to put a plug into the bypass line that has a 3/8ths dia. hole to
restrict the coolant flow."
Function is more important than price, obviously, so is it worth spending the
extra money, or is the solution of a plug with a 3/8th's hole as good or
better to ensure proper engine cooling?
