Lay off Larry!!!...........I'd write all the time in caps, if people didn't
give me so much flack........I don't why that seems like shouting to
everyone.
Seems easy to read for us old geezers and it saves energy....don't have to
keep hitting the 'shift' key........ Now THIS!!! is
shouting!.....<g>..........
Print media outlets have done studies on this stuff that show that people
read substantially more quickly when things are written in traditional sentence
case -- Caps at the beginning and for Proper Nouns, and lower case the rest of
the way through. All caps slows people down. Also of note, people who grew
up reading fonts with serifs (Times New Roman) rather than those without
(Arial) continue to read their traditional fonts faster. That's why newspapers
are
still using traditional fonts -- younger folks don't read newspapers. One
thing that's an Internet phenomenon is the "all caps = shouting" thing. As
long
as there have been stop signs in all caps, no one has ever chosen to be
offended on the grounds that the sign is yelling at them....
