Bzzzzt. This is the wrong thing to do, as if the company that accepts the
waste pours it into thier tank, they've made the whole tank into toxic
waste.
Please don't be inconsiderate with this stuff. Do the right thing and take
the contaminated oil to a company for proper disposal. As I suggested to
the original poster, check with local authorities for local hazardous
waste disposal facilities and follow recommended disposal procedures.
Local authorities should know about local facilities and some governing
bodies even hold toxic waste days where you can bring your stuff to a
central location.
It's not like we don't have proper channels for hazardous waste disposal.
Yes, it costs money. But some results of improper disposal of this stuff
cannot be reversed. How much does that cost??? Choosing to pollute is a
bad choice.
I feel pretty strongly about this topic.
