There is a thread over on Triumphs about cleaning wire wheels, and one lister mentioned that he runs both wire wheels and steel wheels on the same car. I TR4 I think. He uses the longer steel wheel lug bolts and uses a 6mm spacer when running the wires. 6mm = .236 inches ~1/4". Can I do that on my TR250 or a TR6? 1/4" wider doesn't seem to be a lot... or is it? Would this limit me to 4.5" 60 spoke wheels on the TR250 or could I still use 5.5" 72 spoke wheels. Could I still run 205/70/R15 with this 1/4" spacer and the 5.5" 72 spoke wheels on the TR250? These spacers seem line a good idea, as I could use a steel wheel for a spare. Don Malling |
