Ford ZTEC Engines - Minimal LBC

     I recently acquired a 1999 Ford Escort with a ZTEC DOHC engine. I had
to buy the car from my 96 year old uncle after he had a stroke, to get him
off the road before he killed someone.
    Anyway, I see some of the LBC kit cars like Caterham and Ginetta are
using ZTEC engines. Where are ZTECs from? England? USA? Japan? Any history
behind them?
