The SAAB motor sounds interesting. 80 or 81 was the last year for the "B"
motor: water pump built into the block, distributor in the block, black steel
valve cover.
The 2B uses a external waterpump, distributor on the end of the valve cover,
silver aluminum valve cover but is pretty much the same. Later engines were
16 valve and respond to added boost pretty well.
The SAAB motors do not have a bellhousing pattern. The engine sits on top of
the transmission using the oil pan rails for location. A motor plate for
convert to TR 7 trans would be possible.
