wheels tr6

If the back spacing on the standard tr6 wheel is 3 1/2"; can you deviate
from that,l and if so how much.
I was looking at some wheels that would fit a mazda 626; which suposedly
uses the same size wheel a a tr6 the but the back  spacing is 5 3/4.
which doesn't sound like it would fit,
