But I thought I would pass along my advise and observations on one
thing. For several weeks now my car has been listing to port, like a
half-sunken shrimp boat, awaiting parts and procrastination to pass. My
general mood has been sinking lower in the water with each passing week
as well. So after much drimmeling (?), hammering, and chiseling, oh and
don't forget swearing, the front suspension was back in place.
A good time for a drive to celebrate, correct? Well, sort of. The
windshield was not in place either, but I figured "what the hey" and
took off down the highway for a short test drive. Let's just say that
the wind is a bit strong. But my tale of woe, or stupidity, didn't end
there. No, oh no, I didn't learn my lesson so I was FORCED to drive my
car, in the same condition, to the local Triumph meeting several days
later. This was a much further drive and also meant that I would be
returning past dark.
Imagine driving down the interstate, at night, with your sunglasses on
so as to not take multi-legged creature in the eye. Not exactly my idea
of fun, or was it?
