Listers: I have expeienced much difficulty in obtaining the rear half of the
crank pulley VB #18-323. It was on back order for 3 weeks and when I finally
received the part, I installed it after drilling out the mismatched holes to
the front half. Upon starting the engine, the pulley had a pronounced
vertical wiggle. After disaassembly, I discovered that the reinforcing ring
tack welded to the rear half was approx 1/16th off center. After a month of
exchanges and notes to VB, I received my third pulley which had the same
defect. All the other suppliers that I contacted were B/O. So I drilled the
plate off, centered it and welded it in place and drilled out the six holes.
IT WORKED.
Apparently all the suppliers get this part from one supplier in the UK. If
you are in need of one look it over carefully when you receive it..
