Hi Joe
AFAIK the spare tire compartments of pre TS 60 000 cars are designed to take
a 155x15 tire mounted on a 48 spoke wire wheel or steel disc wheel.
A 165x15 tire mounted on a steel disc wheel has to be deflated a little in
order to fit. Guess the same would apply if fitted to a 48, 60 or 72 spoke
wire wheel.
I'm not sure if a 155x15 tire mounted on a 60 or 72 spoke wire wheel would
fit without deflating it a little.
Kind regards.
