Joe,
I believe that a "165R15" is a "78" series tire. That is to say, the
sidewall height is 128.7mm or 78% of the 165mm width. A "65" series tire
would usually be specified as 165/65R15.
Hope this helps,

Subject: tires again
I am going to order tires tomorrow for my 59 TR3 (actually, Big O is). The
tires on it now are Peerless 165R15. Am I correct in thinking that this is
a 65 series tire? Any last thoughts before I get them?
thanks,
Joe
