Hi David
I drove a Herald for Years and thousands of miles, only front suspension
failures I ever had were from impact, sideways, and it was the vertical link
which broke, on one it happened about a week after the impact on the other
it happened upon impact. Both were from sliding into the kerb stone during
hurried about turns, darn that turn in the road ability, which I believe
makes me not the design responsible, however I believe the design is not as
strong as a ball joint would be.
I did try to modify the front using Dolomite bits, but didn't get very far!
