Ian,
I converted to the Bosch Alternator several years ago. It was one of
the best modifications made to the car. You'll really love the change
over the Lucas unit.
The large brown wire attaches to the B+ terminal on the alternator
The small brown/yellow stripe wire attaches to the D+.
Tie the other wire back and make sure it is insulated from ground.
That's it.
