Depends on a lot of things, like how tall the tire is and what the offset of
your wheels is.  I have 205/55 tires mounted on 5.5" TR6 rims front & rear
on my 59 TR3A.  They rub a bit on the front sway bar at full lock (which I
could probably cure by adjusting the stops), and the RR will just touch the
fender if I corner hard while carrying a passenger.  Doesn't seem to be
harming either the tire or the fender tho, so I don't worry about it.  If I
had some way to adjust the offset (negative in the rear, positive in the
front) they wouldn't rub at all.

Note that there are no standards for actual tire measurements, one maker's
205 may not be the same width as another's and I've even seen significant
variation between different models of tire from the same maker.

So ultimately, you have to try the combination you want on your car, and be
prepared to change if necessary.
