Hi list - For those of you who are interested, the "2" was finally painted
last night, and, if I might say so myself, it looks great! A bright shiny
signal red! The last clearcoat has a couple of runs, but they should be
easily sanded/buffed out. I used the Matrix paint system. Convertng the
PPG signal red color formula to Matrix resulted in Ferrari Russo Red - not
bad for a fast little car. It almost matches perfectly to the TR2 on the
cover of Taylor's book.
I also painted a '79 VW bug. I used Lamborghini Black on that, and also the
"2" hardtop. Together, it makes for a stunning match. Can't wait to get
the car back together and "on the road again"
It'll have to wait a little while, as I'll be in San Diego next week for
work. (seems work always gets in the way) Are there any Triumph "doings"
in San Diego next week? Anyone want to get together for dinner? I won't
have any "wheels", but I understand public transportaton is excellant.
