For the bonnet, I believe the original setup had no spring, just a washer
that got pressed over the end of the Dzus button and engaged the slot near
the top.  Thus the button can only turn in the hole in the bonnet, not move
up and down by any appreciable amount.  The button is different than the
ones used for the side curtains, and doesn't have the lip near the bottom,
only the slot.

However, when I got it, my TR3A had sidecurtain type Dzus buttons on the
bonnet, with a spring between the head of the button and the bonnet and the
usual washer on the shank of the button.  They pop up when the button is
released, even if the bonnet doesn't.  I kind of like them, so I've never
switched back to the original style.
