I don't really mean this as a complaint, just as an observation. Over
the years, 20 at least I have ordered parts from TRF and Moss. During
my current rebuild I am ordering from both of them again. I have
noticed a distinct difference between the two companies.

When you order a part from TRF you get a part as close to factory
original as they can get. However, maybe 50% of the time they are back
ordered and you can wait until hell freezes over to get the part.

When you order from Moss they will usually have the part in stock.
However, the part you receive from them is an adaptation of some sort
that does not even pretend to approximate the original part.

Case in point is the brake fluif line from the fluil reservoir of a TR3A
to the respective master cylinders. I called TRF first and ordered.
They only had the one for the clutch master cylinder, the other one was
back ordered. So I called Moss and ordered the one for the barke master
cylinder.

Now when the orders arrive TRF sends me a steel brake line already bent
to match the factory line. Moss sends me a straight line, not a big
problem, but it is not steel and appears to be a refrigeration line of
some kind. A call to Moss reveals that they only sell one line for both
master cylinders and the one they shipped me is the length for the
clutch master cylinder. This means it is the wrong material, has brass
instead of steel fittings, and it is six inches too long.

In the past when Moss has sold me parts that are adaptations I could
write it off to unavailability or the original designs, but this brake
line borders on sheer apathy. They haven't even tried to get it right.

Solution, I went to my local hose shop and had them build somthing more
suitable. I will return the line to Moss today.

        Best regards,
        Tom
