Yes, exactly.

I'm not certain if the TR3 had the 3.45 ratio available from the factory,
don't recall it being listed in the parts catalogs.  However, the gear set
is interchangeable with the TR5-6, so certainly 3.45 gear sets are
available.  I've got one on the shelf to be installed along with my "hot
rod" motor, someday.

The TR2 and early TR3 had a different axle assembly, inherited from the
Mayflower as I recall.  It had ball bearings instead of tapered rollers, and
was supposedly more prone to break.  The tapered roller design was part of
the upgrade that included Girling front disc brakes.  I don't recall offhand
if it was new at that time, or adapted from another Triumph.
