David Somerville was a guest from England at the recent TRA National. While
there, I asked about the possibility of he locating a pair of NOS aero
windscreens for my TR2. David confessed that he, also, had been looking at
the auto jumbles around England for the last several years but had been unable
to find a set for his TR2. Yesterday he E-mailed me saying there was a person
in London who had a set and was going to reproduce based on the original
factory part number 700896. These reproductions will use the mounting bolts
on the front scuttle that were on all pre-TS32833 cars. I would think that
drilling the mounting holes on later side screen cars would be an easy task.
Price has not been established as the reproducer is merely checking demand (I
would assume that the screen will be close to what Moss asks for their
"Brooklands" versions which is $165 ea). Those interested should send me a
note and I will relay the information to David. Naturally there is no
commitment, just an interest.
