The EB number plate, riveted above the battery tray, is going to be
close to the serial number, but a little higher. Same for the engine
number, if you still have the original engine block.
After that, you start looking for changes to the car which took place at
specific number points, such as newer Lucas windshield wiper motor at
S/N 12567, disc brakes S/N 13046, changed to separate license plate lamp
rather than combined plate lamp/ stop lamp at S/N 18913, etc. You can
get pretty close!
