Any car and driver that is registered for the Summer Party is eligible to
compete. Cars must be equipped with a good working seatbelt and pass a basic
tech inspection similar to the one done for the autocross. No rollbar or
cage
is required.
Any decent helmet will be acceptable. Loaner helmets will be available.
On-board fire extinguisher is not required, but it is highly recommended.
Racing
suit is not required.
The course is 6/10 mile long, and not very steep. There are five natural
turns, none of them tight. Haybales will be used to add a couple tight turns
and
slow down what would otherwise be very high-speed turns.
The road is two-lane blacktop in very good condition. Smooth, with very
little crown and nice edges. There is some runoff room in some areas. There
are
also lightpoles, road signs, trees, and some guardrails on both sides of the
road.
Many cars will easily top 60mph in a couple spots and for more than a couple
seconds, but for the most part this will not be a high-speed course. However,
the proximity of the hazards will make you think you are going faster .
Number of runs depends on how many people enter, but you should expect no
less than three timed runs. Entrants will have a chance to see the course, and
MIGHT get a practice run before timed runs begin.
The class structure has not been decided yet. It may be similar to the
Summer Party autocross classes, it might be similar to VTR classes, or maybe
something in between. It's up to the management at TRF.
