I was unaware of the GL4 vs GL5 issues and may have been using GL5 in my TR250 transmission and differential. I used Castrol Hypoy C Gear Oil 80W/90. I assume this is GL5 because the label says: "Castrol Hypoy C Gear Oil is a multi-grade gear lubricant providing excellent performance in hypoid gears requiring a GL-5 lubricant" " Meets the performance requirements of MIL-L/2105C, Ford ESW-M2C-105B and Mack GO-G" I also used whatever gear oil was at the service stations back in the 70's. When did GL5 come along? Thanks, Don Malling /// triumphs@autox.team.net mailing list /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive |
