I had known about the car buying scam for some time and had seen it
touted on the list.. but I assumed the Scammers were going after classic
cars that had been advertized for sale somewhere....
Today in the morning e-mail was my own personal message with my TR3, its
year and correct TS number listed with an offer to buy it for some
wealthy African diplomat.... and the usual note about keeping it
confidential..... and any price that meets my fancy.......etc....
These guys are getting really good or..... really scraping the bottom of
the barrell to want my Triumph....
I assume that if they have found this info about my TR3, that some
others here will be on their dart board as well....
Just for your amusement I have quoted the current form letter
below.... I have a '66 T bird that I would love to use as bait if we
could catch them at their own game.....
Bill Hook, w/ TR3... running well and not for sale now....(untill it
breaks again)....try back next week.....
