In my view the most important part of matching cylinder head ports is on the
inlet side. Unmatched inlet ports cause turbulence that can reduce power.
Having said this, matched ports on the exhaust side are also a benefit.
In your case the head ports would have to be machined. I understand that a
small port opening into a large port would cause the gases to slow and this
is not desirable for peak performance.
