Twitchy gas pedal FIXED!!

Thanks to everyone for their input.  It turns out that all that was needed 
was to re-adjust the throttle linkage so that the pinch lever on the throttle 
shaft and the bell lever were closer to  90 degrees of the shaft linkage.

BTW, I disconnected the battery before making any adjustments.
