I use Syl-Glide made by AGS ( American Grease Stick) . It is a silicone based lightly amber lube made for rubber brake parts. If you put the parts in a zip lock bag, that will work just as well. The old cylinders corroded because brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture). Without brake fluid on the parts, they will act like any other aluminum/steel parts.
