Hi everyone.
Im about to embark on installing a new soft top on my TR4.
While I dont feel intimidated by the task, I welcome anyones been there done
that advice or hints that they are willing so share. I figure I have a few
days before the weather gets warm enough to do the job properly.
I do have a question about the webbing that connects the frame to the rear
studs.
I have a feeling that on my car, these straps have been shortened just a little
bit to help put more tension on a stretched out old top.
I say that because the forward most frame bow seems to be pointing awfully
skyward, and the side rails look strange in that I would figure they would be
closer to parallel to the tops of the rolled up door glass.
As Ive said .. my suspicion is that if the rear webs were lengthened just a
bit . . . the frame would come to rest in the proper position.
Anyone have some helpful advice about this . . or .. if you just want to send
me some pictures of your TR4s with the tops erected . . . that might be
helpful too.
(pictures from the inside with the windows rolled up would be ideal)
For that matter I may post some pictures of mine just to check on my assertion
that it is a little off kilter.
Thanks in advance for any help I get.
