Hi all, Should have been more precise in the description of my shifting
problem. The clutch appears to be fine, disengagement and engagement have not
changed. Car has 58,000 miles on drive train, had 49,000 when I bought it
from original owner, has had no work on tranny or clutch that I'm aware of. It
feels like the problem is in the top selector unit, if that makes any sense.
When I have the problem and pull to the side of the road, after shifting back
and forth between first and second that shift " loosens up " . Third and fourth
have become very tight. When down shifting from third to second, its hard to
get out of third. Going into third, it takes a lot more forward force than it
should. Reverse will go with some light pounding back on gearshift knob. And of
course the most fun of all of this is that it's an intermittent problem. Thanks
for the suggestions so far. Any additional help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike
