that brown wire probably used to be red - and since it is broken you'll need
to remove the two screws at rear motor cover and disassemble motor (rather
easy if careful) to extend your broken wire.
The only parts you might really need are the two carbon block brushes - if
they are worn down - available at Moss etc.
A couple drops of light oil to the bronze bushing and new grease in the gear
box a good idea. Also you can yank out the rack cable (pop wiper arms off
first) to add grease to cable line. Factory Manual says six pounds max.
exertion should operate wipers.
After many years my gearing was very dry and took a lot of effort to operate
so I lubed the spindles and spindle gears until they spun with very little
effort.

>>TEAM, My 63 tr4 wipermotor is not working. The solid brown cloth covered
lead from the top of the wheel box is broken off inside the motor housing, I
can't tell where it goes.
Also, does any one know of a source for the small piece parts? ( Spring
assembly, retainer, brush assembly, etc) ? As always thanks in advance,
