>my 80 tr7 at close examination has a small short gas strut on the
passenger
side hinge of the trunk (car side of hinge, not trunk side) going into the
body of the car. there is no gas strut on the drivers side. i noted that
the trunk lid has the two machined nuts for the older lever. however,
there
is nothing for the lever to attach to down on the body (a welded tab or
something for older models ?). so what does this mean ? someone removed
the drivers side strut (perhaps to match it to buy replacements ?) ? is
that how the struts look / attach ? short struts one on each hinge going
into body ? thanks in advance for the help. larry lstein6@earthlink.net

Yup. Yup, and Yup. No wonder you boot lid won't stay up. Two struts are
required.
