Ron Olds asked about green hoses.
I fitted green hoses a couple of years ago obtained from TRGB. Within a
season they had changed to a dirty brown colour. Interestingly, underneath
the Jubilee clips they were still green.
Since then I have obtained another set from Rimmer Bros - these have not
faded and have been on the car for over 1 year now. So I suspect my first
set were from a faulty batch.
With regard to misidentification - one of my favourites: I was at a tyre
dealer in the 6 having a set of new rubber fitted. A little lad, probably 7
or 8 years old was walking around admiring my car whilst his mum looked on.
Shyly, he asked, "what's a TRUMF?"
